Music Minors Program
The Younger Kids of Voices in Time
This Music Minors program was established to provide children 5 thru 8 years old the opportunity to learn to sing and perform in a group setting. The group consists of 10 children.
This group instruction will provide children the opportunity to learn about their voice, how to sing scales, sing songs, learn basic dance steps to apply to songs and the kids will learn how to perform together in a group with solo song opportunities as appropriate.
Students will work on the following areas of technique: diction, posture, pitch, ear training, while also learning presentation and microphone skills as well as communication, some acting and performance skills.
Music Minors lessons are provided each Saturday from 2-3 p.m.. Space is limited. A teaching assistant (Miss Alison Lacasse) will help in teaching the group.
A weekly review is provided to parents the last 10 minutes of each class. This provides parents the opportunity to view the progress of students during eachg class. Children in this program will have the opportunity to perform with group Voices in Time and will be responsible for singing in two cabaret recitals yearly. They will also be responsible for taking part in 2 small fundraisers and purchase 2 costumes annually.
