Teaching Kids Music For More Than 18 Years.
Sharon Marie Jensen, Vocal Coach Sharon Jensen of Rochester, MA has been teaching private vocal lessons to students through-out the South Coast area for the past 18 years. She also facilitates the well known kids vocal troupe Voices in Time. She has her BA in English with a concentration in Communications and Journalism, while she studied music as a minor through-out college. Ms. Jensen studied voice under the direction of the late Madam Cobert of UMASS Dartmouth and Worcester's Vocal Coach and well known, Jazz Singer, Katie Tetzel. Sharon sings professionally as a freelance performer with various local bands including the "Jack Gomes Party Band" and "Now and Then". A former Miss New Bedford 1987 and Miss Freetown 1984, she has an extensive background in pageants and teaches pageant preperation. Her credits include students who have held the title of Miss New Bedford, Miss Mass National Teenager, Miss Junior Massachusetts and Miss Massachusetts Teen America and Miss Massachusetts National Junior Teenager 2009. Other accomplished vocal students have won titles as TV favorite "America's Talented Kid", "Catch a Falling Star Winners", "South Coast Idols", "Burtwood Idols", "New England Singer of The Year","Magic of Music Idols", "Neuman Idols" and "New Bedford's Got Talent Winners 2009". Many of her students have held leading roles in local musicals and 2 of her students Mackenzie Rae, who she taught for 4 years went on to record her own music and Jillian Marie Jensen who recently released her second album and most recently at age 16, made it to the top 200 spots of the 2009 American Idol search at Gillette Stadium. Sharon is known to local audiences as "THE LITTLE GIRL WITH THE BIG VOICE". She sang for many years with the 16 piece band "The Meadowlarks" and the "Moonlighters".

Assistant Coach/Alison Lacasse
Ms. Alison Lacasse joined Sharon in the Fall of 2007 to assist in coaching the Music Minors of Voices in Time. Alison started lessons at the age of 9 with Sharon and has also had other styles of vocal lessons from other area teachers. She is a well-rounded performer and has performed locally in various musicals, including Burtwood School's Footloose. She is a graduate of New Bedford High School where she was very involved with the choral groups and the drama club! Currently, she is attending college where she is minoring her studies in music. Alison was first runner-up to Miss New Bedford in 2007 and Miss New Bedford 2008.
